Visiting this website
When you open this website, your browser sends technical information needed to deliver the pages, such as your IP address, the requested address, request time and browser information. The website is hosted by Vercel. Vercel processes connection and request information to deliver the website and protect it against abuse. Vercel BotID also uses technical browser and request information to check contact-form submissions for automated abuse before they are sent to Wix. Further information is available in Vercel’s privacy notice.
The purpose is to provide a reliable, secure portfolio. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in presenting my work and operating a secure website.
The website offers optional company visitor identification through Apollo, as described below. It does not use session replay or social-media embeds. It does not use cookies or persistent browser storage for the welcome animation. Fonts are served with the website. Links to LinkedIn and project websites open the relevant external service only when you follow them.
Published portfolio content is retrieved from Wix on the website's server. This content retrieval is separate from contact enquiries. Images or videos supplied through Wix-hosted media addresses may also be delivered by Wix when your browser requests those files. The relevant media provider then receives the technical information needed to deliver them. Some project videos play automatically when visible, subject to your browser and motion preferences.
Visitor statistics
I use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which portfolio pages people visit and improve the website. Vercel processes page addresses, visit times, referrers, approximate location and device, browser and operating-system information to provide aggregate statistics. The website removes query strings and URL fragments from the visited-page addresses sent to Analytics. It does not send contact-form contents or custom events to Analytics.
Where this processing involves personal data, I rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in understanding aggregate use of this portfolio and improving its content.
Analytics does not use cookies. Vercel derives a temporary visitor identifier from incoming requests and discards it after 24 hours. Aggregate statistics are retained separately. Further information is available in Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation.
Optional company visitor identification
If you choose Accept in the tracking banner, Google Tag Manager loads the Apollo visitor tracking script. Google receives the technical connection information needed to deliver Tag Manager. Apollo uses cookies and technical visit information, including your IP address and the pages visited, to help identify companies interested in my work. This website is configured for company-level identification. Contact-form contents are not sent to Apollo by this integration.
This optional tracking starts only after your consent. If you choose Decline, neither Google Tag Manager nor Apollo is loaded. You can change your choice at any time using Tracking settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent reloads the page and prevents further Apollo tracking on this browser; it does not reverse processing that took place before withdrawal. You can also remove previously stored cookies using your browser settings.
Your tracking choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days so that it can be respected on later visits. Google and Apollo may process information outside the European Economic Area. For details about their processing, retention and international transfers, see Google’s privacy policy and Apollo’s privacy policy. You can contact me at the address above about information associated with your visits.
Email and enquiries
If you email me, I process your email address, name if supplied, the content of your message and any information you choose to include. I use this information to respond and discuss the role, contract or project you contacted me about. Please avoid including sensitive or confidential information that is not needed for the enquiry.
Where an enquiry concerns entering or performing a contract with you, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other professional enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in responding to relevant communications and discussing opportunities.
When you submit a contact form on this website, your selected enquiry type, name, work email, company, role or project and message are sent to the website's server on Vercel for validation, then forwarded to Wix Forms. Wix stores the submission and contact details so I can review and respond to your enquiry. Wix also processes submissions for spam protection and sends me an email notification and you an acknowledgement email. Further information is available in Wix’s privacy policy.
Providing information is voluntary. I need a reply address and enough context to respond; without them I may not be able to handle your enquiry. Contacting me does not subscribe you to a newsletter or marketing list. I review accepted enquiries myself. Automated checks are used to help detect and limit spam.
Keeping and deleting information
For correspondence under my control, I delete personal information once the enquiry and any related follow-up are complete, unless an ongoing engagement, a legal retention requirement or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims requires particular records to be kept. Records kept for those reasons are limited to the relevant purpose.
Enquiry records are held in Wix and in the resulting email correspondence. The website application does not maintain a separate enquiry database or write message content to its application logs. Vercel, Wix and email providers also process technical and account data under their applicable service arrangements. You can contact me for information about those arrangements and your data.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact design@danishqamar.com to make a request. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. For Berlin, this is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
Changes
This notice will be updated when the website's processing changes, including changes to hosting, analytics or enquiry services and before a booking embed is introduced.
